Calvary Christian Center Community Library has been serving the Yuba Sutter area for 30 years. This Library started with only a few books and a vision, it has grown to include over 8,500 titles in a variety of categories covering a multitude of subjects.
For students of the Word we have a vast reference section with over 1,000 titles to help give insight and depth to different books and subjects in the Bible.Other books include studies on types, Bible characters and everything in between. We have commentaries and study guides that help you understand the original text in Greek or Hebrew.
We subscribe to Christian History and Biblical Archeology Review as well as other periodicals that make interesting reading as well as great reference materials.
For more current references, we have a large number of autobiographies and biographies that share inspirational stories of some of those who have gone before us. Also available for ministers and teachers, are materials on sermons for every occasion, great ideas that have been passed on to us from great teachers and preachers from earlier years.
Family issues such as sibling rivalry and chemical dependency are covered in a variety of books on personal relationships.Self-help books based on the Word of God can help you understand how to solve problems God’s way.
Prayer and spiritual warfare are topics that are always being sought and checked out.Volumes have been written on these subjects with lots of different ideas on ways to pray effectively.
Nearly one-tenth of our books are for children. These books teach the very basics of Christian behavior as well as simplifying Bible stories and Bible characters for the little ones to enjoy. They are entertaining as well as educational!
Novels for teens and adults line the shelves of our fiction sections, ranging from modern romance and mysteries to classics and allegories. You will be taken away into other worlds and a distant time but always with a lesson about our walk as Christians.
We have a summer reading programs for children every year and “Storytime” on selected Thursday evenings during the summer, as well.
We have an audio section which can be checked out and over 300 videos ready to be rented. DVD’s have now been added to our collection!
As the influx of immorality and violence on television programs continues to rise, you can find peace and comfort in literature that exalts Christ and encourages us to dwell on that which is good.
